Start out the new year with the determination to improve your inner peace: the real power to make lasting changes that bring happiness into your life. Everybody is Welcome regardless of religious background, affiliation or previous meditation experience.
Each day we offer 2 opportunities to engage in retreat with us at our Center. We will have sessions at 7:00 am and 7:00 pm. Sundays the sessions will be held at 11:00 am and 7:00 pm. These sessions will include Buddhist chanted prayers (in English), and include guided contemplation and meditation by a senior Teacher.
This retreat highlights the Stages of the Path, or Lamrim, as explained by the great Buddhist Master Je Tsongkhapa, the Founder of the Kadampa lineage teachings. We will use commentary and contemplations from How to Understand the Mind, by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. The chanted prayers from Essence of Good Fortune can also be found in this book. We will also be continuing our weekly General Program classes throughout the month. These classes will contain the daily retreat meditation object and topic with more detailed explanation. Classes are held on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (see schedule for times).
There is no cost to attend retreat sessions. If you would like to make a donation, a donation of $5 per session is suggested. We also invite you to consider becoming a Supporting Member.
